PRIDE Committees

At Equality Cape May, we are committed to promoting equality, acceptance, and inclusivity for all members of our community. Every year, we host three big PRIDE events:

A PRIDE Kickoff Fundraiser - this event is usually held the first week of June, to celebrate and kick off Pride Month and help us raise money for the March and Afterparty.  It usually features free facepainting, as well as music, drinks, and dancing! You can also win incredible prizes including gift certificates and gift baskets from local businesses! We look forward to this event every year!

Our PRIDE March - Our annual Pride march is usually held in mid-late June. We usually begin the route at the Cove, and we march down the promenade, ending near Convention Hall, where we have our speakers. Each year we choose a featured theme.  The Pride March is important because it's a form of solidarity and activism. It sends a clear message of inclusivity and equality, and resistance against discrimination and oppression. Pride marches have historically been platforms for advocating for social change, challenging societal norms, and demanding justice for our marginalized community members. 

Our PRIDE March Afterparty - Our family friendly  afterparty begins right after the March concludes! We usually hold our afterparty at the Inn of Cape May, which conveniently is located right across the street from where our march ends.

We always feature free face painting and a fun selfie station. There is also music, drinks, and dancing. It's always a wonderful time!

We have three separate committees who often coordinate together to organize these amazing events for the Cape May County LGBTQIA2S+ community!
